Leicester College used K2 to build a fully automated business application for its car parking permit process. Now, employees complete an electronic application form, which is automatically passed to their line manager for approval and then forwarded to the relevant central team. The solution improves the quality and validity of the data collected from applicants and prevents time from being wasted chasing up information. K2 also allows the college to enforce greater quality in the validation process, and crucial information is less likely to be omitted. The creation of this process has resulted in tremendous time savings for the college.

“August to October, the period when the car parking permit process occurs, I estimate that the college saved 300 hours,” Urquhart said. “If all these time savings are converted into cost savings, we calculate that we recovered our investment in K2 software with this single process in the first year.”
